Paul’s pacifiers disappear.

I left Paul in his crib, happily playing, and went downstairs. By the time I came back 20 minutes later, the pacifier was gone. I could not find it anywhere—not in the crib sheets, not under the crib, and not under the dresser, bookcase, or chair. Where do these things disappear to? Is there some world full of lost pacifiers?

I imagine the pacifiers are joined with all the socks we lose as we do laundry.
