Paul had a lot of firsts this week. Last Sunday, he breathed for the first time. He also cried for the first time. In the past week, Paul also learned to eat really well and to mess his pants! He is a natural sleeper. Sometimes we have to wake him up to remind him to eat. Other times (when night comes), he likes to stay awake and fuss for attention. No sleeping then!
Dad stayed home from work all last week. Father and son had a great time together. Dad had to go back to work yesterday, but that just means Mom gets Paul all to herself!
Overall, he’s a very good boy. We are so glad to have him in our family.
Here are some pictures from the first week of his life.
Week One

We LOVE him!! He is so adorable! We are going to have to print some of those pictures and show him off. Alex especially likes the pictures of Paul and Ryan. He said “Awe, Ryan is finally a daddy!” We are so excited for you! We love pictures!
What a handsome young man! The expression on his face seems to say “Are you sure about this?”
Wow! Thanks for the pics. We are so glad to finally see a bit more of Paul–and the whole family together.
His face has a character all his own–not just generic baby. And with those long fingers, he’s a natural musician.
Good job! Congratulations on surviving the first bath–all of you. He sounds like a perfectly normal guy–with the night time fussiness and all. Nap when he does. You may not get anything else done, but you’ll be rested and ready to keep being a WOMAN of POWER (and milk and lullabies.) Enjoy the moments. We’re so empty-armed; cuddle him some extra cuddles for us. Love to all three of you, Mom and Dad
