Cowboy Joe Has All the Fun!

I haven’t been born yet, so Mommy’s practicing being a Mommy with Cowboy Joe. They are having lots of fun. I want to have fun too! I guess I should come soon….

Cowboy Joe does look like he’s having all the fun. Just out of curiosity, do you really use the words “pram” and “chaps” or are you just showing us that Cowboy Joe is Australian?

Also, does lifting Cowboy Joe in the carseat make your biceps hurt? Looks like Cowboy Joe needs to put on some weight…

“Chaps” is a variation of a Mexican American word. I don’t think there is anything Australian about it. As for “pram,” I think a pram is different from a stroller. (Baby can lie down completely flat.) What would you call it in the states? A buggy?

Cowboy Joe was hand knitted by a sister in our ward so he’s Australian in that sense, but she knew we are Americans. In my mind, Cowboy Joe is very American.

I’m sure it will be much more fun once I get to play with a 7 pound friend rather than Cowboy Joe, who, you are right, really is quite light.

Cowboy Joe is certainly the easiest baby you’ll ever take care of. No crying, no wet diapers, no difficulty nursing, etc. Enjoy him while you can. Of course, he isn’t as rewarding as a real baby. No smiles, no cuddling, no growing up to be a darling little boy. I say go for the real thing–pretty soon. I mailed you some new pj’s yesterday. Maybe that’s a reward if you have to wait a few days to go to the hospital. (The last package arrived in 6 days, so they just might arrive in time for the big trip. If not, then at least you’ll have them for those long nights at home. Or some day when you just can’t seem to find time to get dressed. Keep us posted on Cowboy joe’s coming replacement. Mom
